Load Management is the process of curtailing kW at PREMA’s peak time. PREMA uses past kW history to determine when to curtail load. PREMA can save a substantial amount of money to curtail kW during PREMA’s monthly peak. This savings is passed back to irrigators that volunteer to participate in the Load Management program. This is money that stays in our local economy. PREMA’s load Management program is May thru September.
Load Management uses Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to get load information. With this information, it allows PREMA to determine the amount of savings by curtailing load.
